Christophe Durand was raised in France to a family of Calvados producers. Christophe moved to Cape Town in 1995 selling French barrels to wineries. After laying his hands on a small vineyard in the Simonsberg area, he created his own label called Dorrance. Dorrance wines believe strongly in traditional practices as Christophe interferes as little as possible with the grapes. All harvests are hand-picked from low-yielding vineyards. Christophe’s wines display ‘old world’ sensibilities and garner high ratings from the press.
